Adam James Thom’s profile as an exciting and original voice in the Canadian architectural community has grown exponentially over the last decade. His work has been published in numerous books and magazines including Dwell, OBJEKT©International, HINGE, Canadian Architect, and Azure.

Awards include the 2016 Architizer A+ Award and the 2009 OAA Award of Excellence.
The practice is primarily focused on residential and commercial projects, but the firm also participates in public art installations and exhibitions.

Prior to completing an M.Arch from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), Adam attained a BFA in sculpture from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD University). His passion for monumental sculptural forms that light up, flow, drip, shift, shake and groan was his gateway to architecture. As the son of renowned architect, Ronald Thom, Adam has always been immersed in a life that makes time for drawing, planning and building.
Adam is a Fellow at the RAIC college and a member of the advisory committee for IPLAN, a training program for internationally-educated architects. He is happiest when surrounded by talented craftspeople in remote locations. Adam is just getting started.
