Delivered in 2013, the Unijet terminal is located at the heart of the biggest business aviation platform in Europe. It is composed of a 1,200 sqm new building dedicated to the company’s offices and VIP lounges, 600 sqm of planes’ service rooms housed in an adjoining hangar and 1,000 sqm of enclosed grounds with a 20 places car park and 250 sqm of landscaping.
The urban shape of Le Bourget Airport is characterized by a front of huge hangars between which are placed each company’s terminals. A contradictory situation derives from this, where technical buildings predominate on reception areas. To reverse this trend, the new Unijet terminal has been enlarged with a patio and a terrace and the fence has been treated as a façade, to stretch the building to the edges of the estate.
The facade of the new Unijet terminal is a lightweight, perforated structure structure on which a smooth skin made of glass and stainless steel mesh has been fixed. Each part has been custom designed and manufactured so as to become part of a system and serve several functions according to the orientation: high performing thermal insulation, acoustic softening, waterproofing, protection against wind and dust, sign base, view framing, adornment set, etc.
