A 1,000 sf original 1960s condominium on Russian Hill challenged our thoughts of space efficiency and opening up an existing view segmented by dividing walls. By rearranging the existing space functions and keeping the bedroom and bathroom small but comfortable, we opened up a stunning existing view that was previously disjointed by interior walls. In contrast to the crisp exterior walls, a monolithic casework form extends through the entrance corridor and bedroom, and defines the enclosed rooms while providing adequate and unobtrusive storage.
