19 Greek st. Design Cafe

Like the café at Spazio Rossani Orlandi in Milan, the café at 19 Greek Street aims to be a hub for design enthusiasts and professionals and afternoon tea lovers alike. The gallery’s eclectic aesthetic is reflected in the café’s interiors, designed by founder and creative director Marc Peridis. Pieces include seating made from discarded office chairs by Danish designer Nina Tolstrup, a coffee table built from repurposed hardcover books by Dutch designer Richard Hutten and an installation of suspended fishing wire and black wool made to look like real furniture by Italian duo Andrea Mancuso and Emilia Serra. While the café is located on the first floor of the gallery, visitors will also have the chance to browse exhibitions housed on the second and third floors of the building. Current exhibitions include Danish designer Nina Tolstrup’s Re-imagined collection and Forces of Nature, which features inventive furniture and lighting crafted from renewable and abundantly available resources, such as wind, sun and earth. “The past 18 months, our carefully curated collections were received with great enthusiasm and praise. We feel its time to get more people enjoying them at more interactive level, by sitting on them, eating on it touching or drinking from them! Good design, by definition, should not merely be observed.”
