In the Monterotondo Civic Tower design were chosen constructive techniques to easily implement, manage and maintain the building. Particular attention was given to architectural shells, whose thermal capacity and energy performance allow to maintain good internal conditions. The constructive elements, ventilated enclosures (brick, photovoltaic or aluminium) and vegetated roof help to control the summer and winter temperatures.

Were chosen primarily recycled or renewable material, such as PET insulating, wood for the interior trims, or recycled bricks for exterior finishes. The bioclimatic management includes natural ventilation, daylight and rainfall control: an automated louvre shading system allows air flowing in the summer; a rainwater recovering system minimizes drinking water use. The interiors adopt the same sustainable logic, by giving great importance to flexibility and fucnionality: spaces are divided by a series of sliding panels on ceiling rails, with a wide possibility of uses and configurations.

The building is currently being examined for the LEED platinum certification.
