The Tornabuoni Place bed and breakfast is located in the medieval heart of Florence, in Tuscany, inside a historic building near the Santa Trinita Church overlooking the homonymous square and Palazzo Buondelmonti. The new intimate and private residence becomes a part of this delicate and valuable context through an equally valuable contemporary language. Located on the third floor, the project involved the renovation and the change of use of an office destination dating back to the seventies and without any architectural quality. Today, on that same surface, it lies a place with a suspended atmosphere, steeped in beauty, like a casket to view the secrets of Florence.

The project’s objective is to pursue elegance and balance. Every detail is designed to create harmonious relations with the wider context, looking for a dimension of luxury that it is based on refined choices that never reach the glitz end in itself.

The colours and fabrics are the protagonists of the bed and breakfast. The colours are soft, able to talk to each other harmonically; the fabrics by Rubelli, the historic Venetian brand of the textile sector, cover cabinets and headboards as to integrate the furnishing to the interior design.

The bathrooms adopt traditional materials: white statuary marble for coating, polished steel for the console, bardiglio for basins realized as single pieces. The choice of cold colours, ranging from white to gray to black, represents an attempt to reach a valuable environment with harmonious colours.

The rooms are all similar to each other, except for the one with the largest direct view of the square. In this room the four-poster bed, the corner that recalls an ancient toilette and the bathroom console at sight define a further refined atmosphere.

Floor planks in light oak run throughout the hotel, from the reception to the rooms to create a warm atmosphere.
