Adding a modest 6′-0″ addition to the rear of this two-bedroom, 1,000-square-foot home, gave enough room to create a great room with open kitchen out of the former undeveloped first floor while still maintaining enough space for one car.  An entire wall of folding doors opens the great room, doubling the living space with a new deck allowing for outdoor entertaining. The former upper-floor living room and kitchen were converted into two additional bedrooms yielding a four- bedroom (one a master suite), two-and-a-half-bath house.

The exterior of the house was re-clad in cedar and cement plaster, with a steel and aluminum sunshade system in the rear giving solar protection from the western sun.
