VACALLO RESIDENCE | SNA (Studio Nava Alessandro)
Vacallo / Switzerland / 2020
The new residential complex in Vacallo overlooks a beautiful landscape on the border with Italy. The project’s approach is aimed at meeting a criterion of eco-sustainability, energy saving, architectural quality in respect of the environment, the territory and the site’s ecology. The project involves a concrete basement that houses the parking spaces and the entrance, while the four upper floors, characterized by structures in prefabricated panels (multi-layer mass timber - CLT), are intended for residential units, each of which has large terraces panoramic that allow a better integration with the landscape. The facades are defined by a linear design and the south facade, covered in larch staves, benefits from a deep terrace. The plant technologies chosen include the use of renewable energy sources and centralized and accounted management.
