Vila Nova Apartment | FCstudio

The Vila Nova apartment project, located at the São Paulo city, Brazil, was ordered by a businesswoman who had just bought the property from a Family.

Thereway, for the big difference of its needs and lifestyles, our project was requested. We suppressed the walls and integrated the spaces so that the new owner coud  perfomr her daily activities. The Project was developted after we understood the particularities of her personality and her way of living.

Before, there was a TV room separated from the living rom, the kitche was closed and the social area was small.

The Project increased the social area by eliminating strategic walls, integrated the social area with the kitchen and also transformed two bedrooms into one large bedroom, more in line with the new need.

A large woodwork panel expands the space horizontally and makes clear that throught this single gesture, the apartment organizes itselve and enhances the social space. Perpendicular to the panel, there is the shelf where the TV is, as an important color elemento in the composition.

The lighting reaffirms the design intentions, once was designed with the woodwork and layout.

In addition to the architecture, we designed two pieces for this space: the Ensamble table and the Brasília coffee table. All of them take in consideration the proportion and materiality of the interior proposal, varying in marble, wood and corten steel.

This type of wood and marble is commonly used in Brazil. In terms of degisn, the furniture pieces created make the allusion to the national scene. The Brasília coffee table, as na example, is inspired by the urban morphology of the capital, while the Ensamble table is a reference to the rural fields very common in our country.

Thereway, we enhance the spatial integration, flexibility of spaces and Harmony of whole, relying on architecture, lighting and furniture design.
