Nestled within the I.M. Pei’s iconic Place Ville Marie tower, TEC Energy’s new offices blend the timeless charm of 1960s aesthetic with the sleek lines of contemporary design. This project reimagines traditional open-plan workspaces, crafting an atmosphere that is both welcoming and refined.

Upon entry, visitors are beckoned through a vestibule enclosed by a geometric screen wall composed of blocks inspired by the brutalist aesthetic of a nearby power station. This nod to Montreal's architectural history serves as a distinct gateway into the workspace.

The versatile kitchen and dining area, strategically positioned to capture natural light and offer sweeping vistas of downtown

Montreal, serves as a hub for meetings and collaboration. With the urban skyline as its backdrop, this space becomes the dynamic centerpiece of the office.

Promoting collaboration and interaction, the open-plan layout incorporates various breakout areas. A secluded lounge area designed to home comforts, is juxtaposed with a greenery-filled nook and adjacent seating, fostering dialogue among colleagues while delineating workspaces. Additionally, an adjacent phone booth offers privacy and uninterrupted workflow for employees.

Acoustic considerations, vital for a conducive work environment, are seamlessly integrated throughout the space. Suspended felt baffles, echoing the rhythm of neighboring office towers, help to dampen ambient noise and conceal the exposed ceiling structure.

Tectum acoustic panels, used as wainscoting in the open office, are broken up by 3 pieces of art by Caravan studio abstractly spelling out T.E.C.

The two private offices, nestled in the glazed corner of the suite, draw inspiration from the distinctive form and materials of the Place

Ville Marie Tower. Utilizing travertine and aluminum, these spaces exude a timeless elegance that resonates with the site's iconic identity.

Aménagé dans l’iconique de la Place Ville-Marie, les nouveaux bureaux TEC Energy incarnent une fusion entre l'héritage esthétique des années 1960 et des lignes contemporaines. Ce projet se veut une réinterprétation des espaces de travail à aire ouverte conventionnels, visant à créer un environnement chaleureux et invitant.

Dès l'entrée, les visiteurs sont immergés dans une zone tampon caractérisée par un mur-écran composé de modules, évoquant l'esthétique brutaliste du poste Berri d'Hydro-Québec. Ce clin d’oeil au passé brutaliste de l'histoire architecturale de Montréal crée un seuil marqué avec l'espace de travail.

La cuisine et la salle à manger polyvalente, positionnées de façon à bénéficier d'une luminosité naturelle maximale et d'une vue surplombant le centre-ville de Montréal, se dévoilent comme un espace de rencontre et d’échange. Cette configuration donne à voir l'horizon urbain tel un panorama dynamique au coeur des bureaux.

Le traitement acoustique, essentiel pour un environnement de travail sain, est intégré harmonieusement dans le design. Des structures suspendues en feutre, reflétant le rythme des façades des tours de bureaux avoisinantes, assurent une réduction efficace du bruit et dissimulent la structure du plafond. Un mur de panneaux acoustiques Tectum, orné d'oeuvres de Caravane studio, borde l'aire ouverte.

Les deux bureaux fermés, nichés dans l'angle vitré de la suite, puisent leur inspiration dans la forme et les matériaux caractéristiques de la Tour Place Ville-Marie. Utilisant le travertin et l'aluminium, ces espaces dégagent une élégance intemporelle qui résonne avec l'identité emblématique du site.

Pour favoriser la collaboration, diverses zones de travail d’équipe sont intégrées à l'espace à aire ouverte. Un espace salon en retrait, empreint d'une chaleur évoquant le confort de la maison se juxtapose à un bac de plantation. Les banquettes adjacentes encourageant les discussions entre collaborateurs tout en séparant l’espace de travail. De plus, une petite cabine téléphonique garantit la tranquillité de l’environnement de travail.
