The concept originated from the quest for a centrally located house with a courtyard in the city, aiming to avoid relocating to the outskirts while still maintaining privacy and adapting to the characteristics of urban land. Situated on an unconventional lot in Rosario, the house has a narrow front of 3.40 meters that widens towards the center of the block, where a neighborhood mechanic workshop previously operated. The goal is for the house to blend in and act as a refuge within its context.

Considering the urban condition of the neighborhood, dominated by high-rise residential buildings, the objective was to achieve well-lit, ventilated spaces protected from indiscreet views. The entirely opaque gate from the street creates the illusion that it is not a typical residence; however, upon entering through the semi-covered and vegetated courtyard functioning as a garage, this perception dissipates.

To optimize surface area and maximize natural light, a central core was designed to connect the three floors, enabling efficient and fluid distribution, fostering a sense of spaciousness and cohesion in all areas. The kitchen serves as the heart of the ground floor, with flexible boundaries between the gallery and the garden, thanks to large windows.

The first floor is organized with a centrally lit hallway leading to the three bedrooms. The top floor features a versatile space that capitalizes on the terraces as an extension of domestic living, particularly leveraging solar exposure in winter when the garden on the ground floor is shaded due to the high party walls. Towards the front of the house, one of the terraces has an opening facing the street, maintaining a connection with the surroundings and creating a contrast between the enclosed block that seeks concealment and the openness that invites residents to peer out

La idea surge de la búsqueda de una casa con patio en una ubicación céntrica de la ciudad, para evitar trasladarse a las afueras, pero manteniendo la privacidad y adaptándose a las características de terrenos urbanos.

Ubicada en un lote no convencional en la ciudad de Rosario, con un frente angosto de 3.40 metros que se ensancha hacia el centro de la manzana, donde anteriormente funcionaba un taller mecánico del barrio. La casa pretende pasar desapercibida y ser un refugio en su contexto.

Dada la condición urbana del barrio, donde predominan los edificios de vivienda en altura, el objetivo fue lograr espacios iluminados, ventilados y protegidos de vistas indiscretas.

Desde la calle, el portón totalmente ciego genera la sensación de que se trata de una construcción distinta a una vivienda, sin embargo, al ingresar por el patio semicubierto y vegetado que funciona como cochera, esta percepción se desvanece.

Con el fin de optimizar la superficie y aprovechar al máximo la luz natural, se proyectó un núcleo central que vincula las tres plantas permitiendo una distribución eficiente y fluida, y a su vez genera una sensación de amplitud y cohesión en todos los espacios.

En la planta baja, la cocina toma un lugar principal y se convierte en el corazón de la casa, y se proponen límites flexibles entre la galería y el jardín, gracias a grandes ventanales.

Para ofrecer privacidad y comodidad a los residentes, la primera planta se organiza con un distribuidor central iluminado naturalmente desde el cual se accede a los tres dormitorios.

La última planta cuenta con un espacio flexible que aprovecha las terrazas como una extensión del habitar doméstico, aprovechando la exposición solar especialmente en invierno, cuando el jardín de la planta baja queda en sombra debido a las altas medianeras. Hacia el frente de la casa, una de las terrazas cuenta con un vano que mira hacia la calle, manteniendo la relación con el entorno y generando una contradicción entre el bloque cerrado que busca ocultarse y la apertura que invita a los residentes a asomarse.
