A delicate dance between tradition and modernity
Through its design, this home – located in the heart of Shoham, Israel – seamlessly bridges the past and the present.
“The exterior of the house embraces timeless elegance with classic white wooden windows and a shingled roof, paying homage to traditional architecture,” says Asaban. Yet, it is the daring inclusion of a metal beam that transcends the structure. This theme unfolds seamlessly as wood stripes grace the bottom of the ceilings across two floors, creating a sense of cohesion and sophistication.”

Architectural style
The house was built in 2023 for a couple in their 40s with two children aged 5 and 3. It combines influences from classical and art deco architecture.
“When you look at the facade, you can already see the great emphasis on the details and connections of the materials,” says Oshir Asaban. “This language continues inside the house where clean lines create a very neutral background on which the details of the furniture, lighting and styling are dressed. The spaces are enhanced in size with carpentry that stretches from end to end in the walls in front of an open and ventilated facade that faces the open landscape that can be seen through the impressive white wooden windows.”

The focal point: the kitchen
The juxtaposition of champagne-colored metal and the warmth of walnut wood elements adds a touch of luxury and embodies a balanced blend of contemporary aesthetics with natural beauty. “The kitchen effortlessly extends into the living room, where a bookcase along the long kitchen wall becomes a captivating backdrop, weaving a narrative that ties the spaces together,” describes Asaban.

A celebration of color and texture in the living room
A vibrant rug in shades of blue, green and gold takes center stage. Neutral-colored furniture serves as a canvas for vintage elements, creating a space that is both inviting and eclectic. The panoramic view of the garden and nature outside provides a serene backdrop, connecting the interior with the tranquility of the surrounding landscape.

The staircase is a true work of art
The staircase features a metal cable element serving as a rail, complemented by wooden stairs that ascend to the second floor.

A sanctuary-like atmosphere
- The spacious main bedroom offers breathtaking views of the surroundings. The attached bathroom and walk-in closet provide both functionality and luxury.
- “In every corner of this home, from the carefully curated interiors to the architectural details, the essence of elegance and timelessness prevails,” says Asaban.
“I wanted to create the feeling of a holiday home, in front of the endless and green open landscape,” says Asaban.

A neutral palette that highlights the landscape
- The shell, the background and the large features are very neutral, from white to nut brown.
- Furniture details, carpets and accessories are blue, green and mustard, creating contrasts. “The work here was done by choosing every piece of furniture that would sit precisely and everything together would feel like one big work of art on a very neutral canvas but full of details to produce uniqueness that adapts itself to the client and complements the impressive green landscape,” says Asaban.
- “There is a combination of natural materials such as wood, natural stone and iron, with modern and fresh textiles.

Layout
The house spreads over 250 square meters. The entrance floor and the upper floor are 90 square meters each, and the basement floor is 70 square meters.
- Entrance level: open living space (a large and spacious kitchen covered in champagne-colored aluminum). In the center of the wall of cabinets, two doors open to reveal a bar that becomes a background for the dining area. In the center of the kitchen is a walnut island with rounded corners.
The dining area and the living room are separated by a staircase with minimalist metal cables that allow us to see the rest of the space.
The living room has a walnut bookcase and delicate metal shelves that create a significant background facing the other side (the stunning green view that you can sit in front of for hours).
- Upper floor: 2 children's bedrooms, a children's bathroom, and the main bedroom with a closet and a bathroom.
It was important to maximize the view as much as possible from each space. The main bedroom is spacious and gives the feeling of a hotel suite with a luxurious closet and a bathroom with an exposed wooden ceiling that continues from the room.
- Basement: there is a play space for children.
