It serves as a cozy space for hosting family and friends for weekends at the beach, while also functioning as a retreat for escaping the city and spending time working on the coast.

The house offers various solutions and nooks designed specifically for the family, ensuring practicality with comfort, coziness, and plenty of fun. It captures the beach atmosphere while being structured for daily routines.

"Obi," in Tupi Guarani, means bluish-green. The blue of the sea and the green of the forest have been brought inside the house, unfolding across different spaces and materials. Soft tones and diverse textures form the foundation of the house, with a specially designed detail being the OBI tiles, created by the office, featuring shapes representing the sea and mountains.

Brief:

A vacation home ready to welcome family and friends, yet also meeting daily living demands as the clients plan to spend part of the week there. Cleanliness and practicality were prioritized by the couple.

Challenges:

The main challenge of this project was accommodating the entire desired program within a compact and functional layout. The house features five suites, a TV room, a living area integrated with the dining room, a terrace equipped with barbecue, beer cooler, and pizza oven, as well as a pool, kitchen, service area, guest bathroom, storage room, and an office.

Solutions:

The layout aimed to minimize unnecessary corridors and circulation spaces, utilizing every inch efficiently. The ground floor is organized into three sections: at the back of the lot, the social area includes the pool, barbecue, and living room. On the left side, all service areas are located, and towards the street, the private quarters.

The house has parking for two cars with access from both sides. One side leads to the social areas, including the living room and barbecue, while the other side provides access to the kitchen, service area, and storage room, which features an outdoor shower and a water tap for hose use.

The living room integrates two areas: a square-shaped seating area for conversation and a dining table that extends into the veranda when needed, connecting with the kitchen through a green woodwork panel.

On the terrace, a large counter spans the entire width, housing a barbecue, beer cooler, and pizza oven. The rectangular pool is designed for water polo games, a regular activity for the family. Behind it, a bench with tiled backrests defines the flowerbed that fills the garden background.

The specially designed tiles for this project feature shapes symbolizing the sea and mountains of Guaecá. "Obi" means bluish-green in Tupi Guarani. The blue of the sea and the green of the forest are brought into the house and unfold across various spaces and materials.

The TV room is positioned opposite the terrace, serving as a transition to the private area. It isolates the ground floor suite for added privacy and provides access to the staircase leading to the second floor.

The guest bathroom is strategically positioned with practical materials, doubling as a changing room for pool users. The sink is separated from the toilet, creating two spaces accessible from inside and outside the house.

On the upper floor, the staircase landing includes a linen storage area and an extensive support counter that functions as a pantry and additional workspace. This floor also features a complete office space for two people, with two work desks and a sliding door between them for privacy during meetings, for example.

The second floor houses four identical suites. Each has an open closet behind the door and a full bathroom. The master suite at the end of the corridor is more spacious, with access to a balcony shared with the office.

The terrace on the first floor serves as a relaxation area and provides access to the technical area on the second floor. Here, water tanks, photovoltaic panels, and air conditioning units' condensers are located. In addition to the technical area, a leisure space is designated, offering views of the sea.
