Igueste de San Andrés is a small coastal neighborhood in the north of Tenerife. Conditioned by the orography of the place, the fabric built shapes an irregular network of narrow streets to which the houses are attached which, thanks to their location on the hillside, have impressive views of the natural environment.

House I is located on a tiny plot between party walls that is reached via a pedestrian path. The house is attached to the street, freeing up a space at the back of the plot for a patio “excavated” in the land that will become an extension area for interior uses.

The program is organized in two levels. Public uses are located on the ground floor, in a completely open configuration that favors the participation of the patio in domestic activity.

The private spaces are located on the first floor, separating the bedroom from the street by means of a transition space, a viewing terrace that frames the landscape.

On the rear façade, a hanging staircase gives access to the roof, which is conceived as a watchtower in which the sheet of water from the pool aims to blur the boundary between the work and the environment.
