To celebrate BULGARI ‘s 75th anniversary of its brand icon, the SERPENTI, this year the brand has launched a series of creative collaborations with contemporary artists from around the world. Emmanuelle is one of the three artists selected for the collaborations for the Tokyo series. This new installation marks the 50th of the 100 colors installations series, creating an immersive space that seems to go on and on into the colors.

Visitors to this installation will experience the concept of "infinite colors," inspired by the allure of the SERPENTI, a symbol of eternity. The space is designed to evoke emotion by inviting visitors into an infinite world where colors seem to continue forever, following a long and narrow endless path.

Stepping into the narrow path, the infinite colors emerge, which are represented by Roman numerals from 1 to 100. This is a special motif chosen as a respect to the brand's roots in Rome. The installation is composed of 347,100 Roman numerals in 100 shades of colors, written on 100 large transparent acrylic panels, regularly aligned to a depth of approximately 16m. Acrylic panels have cut out in the middle, to allow visitors to walk inside the installation. The first layer writes the Roman numeral 1, the number of Roman numerals increases as visitors progress along the path, and the gradation of 100 colors changes along with the number. Roman numerals, consisting of five simple symbols (I, V, X, L, C), are aligned perfectly on a three-dimensional grid, creating an infinity of numbers.

An endless journey of color. The expression of the installation changes with each step, creating a complex fascination that transforms endlessly. Just as the colors continue to be infinite, we hope that the future of BULGARI will also continue endlessly.

100 colors no.50 ”SERPENTI” is part of Emmanuelle’s "100 colors" installation series.
