Our team's proposal for the civic and administrative center in the southern area of Bétera is based on the urban scale and the opportunity to REGENERATE the relational space of the urban complex.
We will generate wealth in the space and in the place as a general whole, compared to limits that by themselves have a more than limited visual and formal interest. That is why new strengths must be promoted, change an empty essence for a powerful aesthetic, improve its construction conditions of health and safety and provide it with technical and usability capacity to house the new required functionality.
A permeable and non-compact solution, with a humanized scale, capable of generating concern and a desire to know its interior space.
With the relational idea, an element of vital connection is configured between the volumes as a space to explore, generating meeting places between lights and shadows. This space that articulates the volumes, connects and enables the use of the building, conceptualizing a new place of scenes, useful for people. Universal accessibility is achieved, making circulations without differences in level or saved by the elevator between floors.
An articulation is generated as a sequence of open spaces that allow travel between the various uses and spaces included in the requested needs program.
The traditional idea of generating a container building, with corridors, rigid circulations and intersections, generates noise, cost and wasted energy expenditure and, currently, in a post-pandemic situation or in a future pandemic, outdoor spaces are better perceived by users. Given the Mediterranean climate, it is perfectly conceivable that, instead of the classic circulation sequence:
Street  Door  Hall  Interior hallways  Door  Destination space,
we can have one more linked to the relational scheme of
Street  Interior boulevard  Door  Destination space,
so that we move from a street empty of content to an interior-exterior circulation space sculpted by full-emptiness, lights-shadows, thermally efficient flowerbeds, crossed visuals and glazes, through which we reach the interior-exterior of the spaces. of use, without generating waste of space. These outdoor spaces generate new uses and areas for conversation and stay outside.
In short, we create a relational, practical, plastic civic space or complex for learning, management, communication and understanding of people (LINK, LEAN & LEARN)
