“Santa Teresa 58” is defined as an urban spa in the ancient center of the city of Naples and represents a place to rest from the chaos and frenzy of the city.

The project is inspired by the layout of ancient Roman baths, for its architectural form, characterized by massive vaults, for the use of natural light and materials.

The space is accessed via a travertine staircase that reaches directly into the reception area, conceived as a large atrium, onto which the various functions overlook. This space is characterized by a series of furniture in black flamed wood designed and made to measure which act at the same time as containers and displays of the various products and as a seat, finished with velvet cushions and embroidered with tropical motifs, for waiting of customers.

In the center there is a raised platform that defines the communication area between the customer and the owner for the sale of the products. The reception area also overlooks the bathroom with the sink that appears directly on the central space, the office with the kitchen and the passage with access to the massage rooms.

The walls and vaults are finished with mud-colored lime plaster to accentuate the materiality of the place, specially treated with a double and multi-faceted aggregate grain, while the flooring was made of travertine laid as if it were parquet, an unusual installation compared to the tradition of the material.

The flush-to-the-wall doors overlook the corridor through which you can directly access the cabins which have all been designed in the same way: a piece of furniture at the end with the sink, an element that we find in all the rooms and the central bed.

The lighting is provided horizontally via recessed spotlights and vertically via spherical wall lamps in blown Murano glass. All wooden furniture is backlit via LED strips.

Santa Teresa 58 therefore represents a contemporary space, dedicated to body care equipped with all modern comforts and technologies but at the same time a timeless place that evokes architecture with an ancient and monumental character.
