B&B in Turin

The project of this small B&B in a historical building in Turin located in Piazza Savoia was realised by Archventil with the aim of transforming what was an open space studio into a modern B&B complete with all functional corners.

The client's wish was to renovate the dwelling, making it more interesting, but preserving its original character, as it was located in a period building in the heart of the city of Turin. Archventil therefore made changes aimed at making the most of the space, but retained classical elements such as the ceiling frames and picked up the woodwork on some walls. This choice made it possible to combine a touch of elegance with the newly selected coverings.

Given the small size of the flat, only 33 square metres, there was a need to differentiate the various spaces to make them more functional. Initially, the flat was in fact a single open-plan room. In order to separate the living area from the sleeping area, a partition was added to offer greater privacy and a furniture element was designed with vertical wooden slats. As well as acting as a divider, it incorporates the television which, by rotating it through 360 degrees, can be seen from the bed and from BoConcept's comfortable Bolzano sofa.

The tones of the flat are neutral with a few black details such as the black coffee tables and the Ozz Floor metal floor lamp with concrete counterweight by Miniforms in the living room and the Imex tapware in the kitchen. For the floor, Forbo linoleum, a sustainable material made from recycled materials, was chosen, 

while the cladding panels on some of the walls are made of marine plywood, which guarantees durability.

A particular trick conceals the only door leading to the service area: to camouflage it and at the same time increase the perception of space within the flat, it was covered in mirrors and installed by means of a ceiling track that optimises its bulk within the room.

The use of sustainable materials and attention to detail contributed to a cosy and functional environment for future B&B guests.
