A unique space with the capacity of hosting the biggest sports events, whether it is national or international, in optimal conditions, this contemporary show Arena can welcome up to 14 000 people, is modular, comfortable, has an irreproachable acoustic, spreads over 12 500 m2 and integrates an exhibit hall of 6 000 m2.
This project “carved in the rough” meeting the demands of both tight economical constraints and a tight calendar planning balances a violence in its form with attention to details in the design of its facades. A common factor to these different spaces, a square and an entry hall of amazing proportions highlight the atmosphere both on the lighting and sound levels. The entry facade serves as the window to this exceptional space, easily recognizable from the Parc des Expositions access and the highway that links Montpellier to the Mediterranean sea. The entry hall guides for clear and efficient directions for the visitors and easy flow to the bleachers. From there, the visitors will have access to the main floor via vomitories, while large stairways will give access to the 2 300 m2 of hallways that leads to the upper level bleachers. The project allows for a continuous 12 500 m2 exhibit hall spreading 148 meters long and 100 meters wide. This feat is achieved by using removable bleachers as well as movable partition walls, while in “show space” mode, between the entry hall and show space.
The Park&Suites Arena was conceived to ensure the utmost comfort to the audience, maximum flexibility in the use of the space to adapt to the various shows, and the best working conditions for the professionals working there.
