By Josephine is a Melbourne store that specialises in fine French patisserie. The new shopfront by French designer Anne-Sophie Poirier (aka Sasufi) opened in late 2012 in Melbourne.

The interior design reflects two primary intentions: simplicity and contrast. Referencing traditional Parisian boutique panelling, a clean white canvas has been created from recycled second hand doors to form a backdrop to the colourful display of macarons and luxurious Kusmi Tea. The bright walls appear to be floating away from the dark floor and existing moulded ceiling, giving an overall sense of lightness. A warm purple wall facing opposite, provides a sense of contrast and showcases a vintage collection of porcelain plates. The branding is by Melbourne company Sense.
