RooyDaad Architects is an experimental architectural atelier in Tehran that began its professional activity in the field of space design and research in 2007, founded by Zahra Armand and Mostafa Omidbakhsh, a couple who are architects and urban planners. The goal of this atelier is to expand the role of the architect to the most strategic possible status. For this purpose, they work in an experimental and workshop-like environment with a multidisciplinary team, similar to a laboratory, relying on the approach of returning to first principles by combining archetypes with new construction materials and methods. This belief has brought numerous awards to the atelier in recent years from various Iranian and international competitions, the most important of which are two first place in the Memar Awards, one third place in the Memar Awards, three first place in Iran Architecture, one second place in Iran Architecture, one first place in the Iran Biennial of Architecture and Interior Architecture, being twice a finalist in the Dezeen Awards, a special mention in the Architecture Master Prize, several special mentions in Middle East Architecture, Asia Architecture, and Middle East Interior Architecture competitions, and more.
