After completing their architectural educations at the Bartlett, UCL in London and having spent a year working for Will Alsop, Dimitris and Konstantinos returned to Athens and set up K-Studio.
K-studio have developed a reputation for their fresh, dynamic approach to architectural interventions. Since 2002 they have built up a portfolio of projects in and outside of Greece; from shops, bars and restaurants to hotel rooms, apartments and new build houses.
Current work includes proposals for a development of 4 chalets in the Swiss Alps; concept design of a new and extensive hotel in the Greek Peloponnese; the design and construction of a new-build house in southern Greece; the design and construction of 2 apartments in London and 2 more in Athens and 2 new restaurants in Athens.
k-studio was shortlisted for the 2012 Young Greek Architects Award, part of the Athens Architecture Biennale, and took part in the corresponding exhibition at the Bennaki Museum in Athens. Their recent projects ‘Barbouni’ and ‘Capanna’ were shortlisted for the 2012 Bar and Restaurant Design Awards and the office was 1 of 20 up-coming practices chosen from around the world to form Wallpaper* Magazine’s 2012 Architects Directory. Their projects ‘Barbouni’ and ‘Plane House’ were also nominated for the 2013 Mies Van der Rohe Award.
