Tobias Grau

Tobias Grau is a German brand specializing in the design and production of interior lighting fixtures. Tobias Grau opened his interior design office in Hamburg in 1986 and over time began to concentrate on lighting design. He achieved success with the TAI, TWIST, OH, KALLISTO and IO collections, launched on the market in 1991; these fixtures became the symbols of his design approach. With sculptural and dynamic forms and a discreet and delicate appearance, they made pioneering use of halogen technology combined with classic materials. Despite the company's growth and international success, with more than 70 major design awards, including 16 iF prizes and 13 Red Dot design awards, the company is still managed by the Grau family. Franziska Grau, the founder's wife, and their sons Timon and Melchior Grau are at the helm as Creative Directors. Today Tobias Grau owns 4 Flagship stores in Germany and works with more than 1000 Partners world-wide. The company has more than 100 employees in an innovative, totally sustainable aluminum and glass building designed by Bothe Richter Teherani, where all the lamps are being produced.

The table lamp, JOHN is the result of a long and detailed study by the engineers at the Tobias Grau laboratory. Their intent was to create an extremely flexible fixture that could provide strong and comfortable lighting at the same time. The hyper-minimalist, slim and discreet design should not be misleading. JOHN is a high-performance lamp with powerful dimmable low-glare LEDs, as well as arms and head that can be positioned in countless ways for optimal lighting of the workstation.
FLYING is a thin and delicate pendant lamp that seems to hover in space, giving off a soft but intense light. The oval luminaire is contained in an elegant and discreet frame, available in black, white or pink, and suspended from 4 height-adjustable cables, allowing horizontal or inclined positions, affording flexible use according to needs.
The impressive SALT&PEPPER is a wireless LED table lamp with a fresh and iconic design including great functionality.
