Atelier 8000

Martin Krupauer and Jiříi Střítecký established ATELIER 8000 in 1989 driven by a desire to build with maximum creative and work freedom. They were at the same time aware of responsibility for the whole process from the design to the end of construction. The architectural studio has its seat in České Budějovice with a branch in Prague; 40 people work together in these two offices: architects, building engineers and other staff necessary for a professional operation of an architectural office.

ATELIER 8000 designs jobs worth of tens to many hundreds of millions of crown, by own means provides architectural, construction and operation segments of design. The office has been cooperating with a number of special disciplines, the goal being a continuity of work, relationships and success of each project in all its phases.
Creative and management experiences are based on designs of a broad range of typology of buildings, buildings are built even under the most difficult spatial, structural, technical, territorial and commercial conditions.

Jiří Střítecký called the studio’s operation an “adventure of an ever growing group of people”. He perceived the studio as “more complicated, more responsible… under ever changing conditions, more resembling an organised factory than a manufacture, more pragmatic, yet again hectic with each new opportunity, as temperament and sensitive as it was at its beginning.”
