Buxkin is a Dutch company that develops textile coverings made of sustainable materials. The company was founded in 2015 with the aim of creating a range of products that create a warm, pleasant and exciting atmosphere as a design object.
Buxkin is founded on a deep-rooted and shared passion for textiles, which was achieved thanks to the work experience gained at the Swiss company Ruckstuhl by the founders. The founders have therefore combined their passion with ideas of sustainability by working with natural and recycled materials, focusing mainly on strips and ribbed structures.
Another very much appreciated biobased material is sheep wool felt and the recycled version of wool felt. For years it has been applied in interiors, to make separation panels and rugs. For the product to be fully appreciated in authentic environments. Combined with the unique recycled leather, the soft wool and rough recycled leather in Stripes, are a thrilling combination. A contemporary application of authentic craftsmanship. Handcrafted in local workshops. Excellent for use on the floor. However also as wall covering.

Since Buxkin started its ribbed collection, ribbed structures seem to become more present than ever in architectural materials. Because of the environmentally friendly components of Buxkin’s Ribbed material, combined with 3d acoustic advantages and infinite numbers of future material applications and ribbing variants, the Buxkin Ribbed is futureproof. The choice to start with the recycled leather came straight from the heart. The owners fell in love with the intriguing, unique structure of the recycled leather. To fully enjoy the leather, all human senses are needed; from the look to the touch and the smell. The material is a true substitute for real leather.
