The architecture firm i2G ARQUITECTOS based in Bilbao was established as a professional company, in 2007 by Gorka Apraiz, Gilles Marchal and Iñigo Barberena, architects from of different areas of origin (Euskadi, Belgium and Navarra), educated at different universities (Donostia, Brussels and Pamplona) and with a range of geographical experiences (North Carolina - USA, Barcelona and Venice) - all in all a highly diverse range academic training. Joint working of the founding partners during the previous 7 years on the development of projects of proven importance, in another architectural firm, set the precedent for the establishment of this new infrastructure.

Architecture understood as a team, consisting of architects with different profiles (technical, creative and artistic), whose versatility promotes addressing all kinds of jobs and new challenges. It is complemented by the recruitment of other specialized technicians to provide services requiring very specific and concrete knowledge, to form a MULTIDISCIPLINARY WORK TEAM with different academic profiles. From training to updating and improvement of processes and results.

In direct line with the previous policy, in view of the need to implement energy saving measures during the home use phase, a design based on PASSIVE ARCHITECTURE is oriented towards the PASSIVHAUS standard for energy efficiency in buildings and 'almost null' energy consumption, promoting the following criteria: Optimal thermal insulation, high performance exterior carpentry and glazing, absence of thermal bridges, air tightness and high efficiency active ventilation.
