SAIB is one of the leading Italian companies producing raw and melamine faced chipboard (MFC). SAIB was born in 1962 just outside Piacenza, Italy, between the river Nure and the river Po, thanks to the intuition of Eva Bosi and her husband Giorgio Rinaldi, our founders. Like all great ideas, that of Eva and Giorgio was also simple, useful and brilliant: reusing waste from other woodworking processes to create a beneficial and versatile product, the chipboard panel.
An innovation that has made history: the chipboard panel has brought down furniture manufacturing costs, making it a democratic and consumer product.

SAIB has grown and remained united, all in one production plant in Caorso, Piacenza, near a logistics and road transport hub.
Its employees operate work on a surface area of 600,000 square metres, the equivalent of around 90 football pitches, of which 65,000 sq. m indoors.
SAIB is one of the main Italian producers of rawboards and melamine-faced chipboard panels.
In SAIB they work on two continuous lines for producing rawboards, added to four state-of-the-art melamine-faced panel lines.
Production efficiency and reduced materials handling help us towards simplification, efficiency and waste reduction.
SAIB works “with our heart and with technology” believing that technology is one of nature’s effective allies and for this reason we invest systematically in evolved, efficient and eco-sustainable production plants, able to ensure product quality and safeguarding of the environment. The continuous production lines for rawboards and the four melamine facing plants ensure production of over 2000 m3/day.
The collections of melamine-faced panels draw on hundreds of designs and a wide range of finishes which, when combined, create a world of surfaces with strong tactile and visual impact.
