Dometic’s history

In 1922, Carl Munters and Baltzar von Platen invented the absorption technology, which is still used in many of Dometic products and became the world’s first refrigerator. Through innovative product development, geographical expansion and acquisitions, the company has grown into a global leader in mobile living: between 1923 and 1925, the patent was acquired by Arctic, later acquired itself by Electrolux, but it was only in the 60s that Electrolux gave its leisure appliances division the name of Dometic.
Dometic became indipendent in 2001 and, in 2015, it grew into a public company with the aim of satisfying the needs of those people who want to live mobile, both for business and for leisure, essential needs like cooking, taking care of personal hygiene and maintaining a pleasant temperature.
