Founded in 1950, China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corp. Ltd (officially abbreviated as CSWADI) is one of China’s largest state-owned class-A architectural design corporations with the longest history and the most comprehensive range of design disciplines. The institute operates under China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), which ranks 13th on the Fortune Global 500 list.
Over the past seven decades since its establishment, CSWADI has completed more than 10,000 engineering design projects across over 20 countries and regions worldwide. As one of the large-scale architectural design institutes in China, it holds concessions for independent international business and actively engages in numerous international design projects. In recent years, CSWADI has fervently pursued its pioneering development strategy, which prioritizes benchmarking against world-class design enterprises, strengthening its six major business sectors, and propelling transformations towards specialization, regionalization, integration, digitalization, and internationalization.
